For Example: If you want to rent an apartment for $1,000 a month, you must make at least $3,000 a month to qualify. There are some apartments that will work with 2x the monthly rent, but there are very few that do. You will need to provide proof of your income of at least 1-3 months when you apply. 2.) Good credit score: You credit score should be at 600 or above. Some apartments work with scores of 550 and above but there are very few that do. If you do not have good credit, you may need a co-signer. 3.) Good rental history: Apartments will check your rental history for any broken leases, evictions, balances, or late payments and if there are any problems, you will not get approved.
